Seedling Somatics is a somatic therapy practice in West Philadelphia. I offer a space to listen to what your body is holding and what you’re ready to move through. I incorporate Somatic Experiencing, parts work, and bodywork to support you in building a loving, curious relationship with your body.
what is no longer serving you?
what do you want to move toward?
what do you want to embody?
"Coaching and bodywork has been transformative! Through Lena’s gentle, wise, and supportive guidance, I have accessed aspects of myself that I was not fully aware of. I can turn inward and notice my state of presence, my default postures, and the story I'm telling myself. It continues to amaze me how the noticings in my body directly connect to what is going on in my life. If I tend to what my body is telling me, I have the agency to make changes that last." – M.M.
“Working with Lena has totally changed how I move in the world. I feel completely held as we sense into the moment together to see what I might need most. In 2.5 years working together I've learned to listen to my body in a new way - it's as if I've been able to reinvigorate a lost intelligence that has always been there but that I didn't know how to listen to. The practice we do in sessions to notice, interact/play with, and sit with all the different parts of me has allowed me to have a totally different relationship with myself and these parts outside of session. Hard to say enough about how impactful this work has been! " – E.C.
“I truly have grown so much in the time we spent together. Lena created room for me to look at my behavior patterns, figure out where they came from and change them! This personal growth of understanding myself better, why and how I freeze, get defensive and shut down has allowed me to set boundaries, come to my organizing more assertively and confidently, and work as a member of a team. Lena helped me find solutions that were authentic to me instead of giving me the answer. Lena was a wonderful, caring and empathetic coach.” - Melody K.

"I'm really glad I had the opportunity to work with Lena. She helped me to be in my body in a way I don't remember feeling before. For instance, within a few sessions of Lena's skilled hands gently intuiting what was needed, it was as if I suddenly had legs and could feel them while walking around! I also received many key insights from the Internal Family Systems work we did. I think there is something powerful about doing this work while grounded in the body. It's been over a year since I worked with Lena, and I still regularly draw strength from the insights that came out of our IFS sessions. If you are looking to get more in touch with your body and psyche, Lena is a great person to help you do that." - R.S.

“Lena has such an ability to identify in real time what is at the core of a challenge or confusion I'm facing. She skillfully guides us to learn from and bring new approaches to our own organizing and relationships. One of the things that stands out to me from sessions with Lena is how able I feel to put into use into practice the work we do.” – Margo S.

"Lena listens deeply and shares her reflections in ways that are both thoughtfully supportive and challenging. She is all about creating a gracious space that invites vulnerability." – Rebecca S.

“I trust Lena to accept and meet me where I am in my understanding, and also identify an opening for my growth. She is very nonjudgmental and encouraging. Through our coaching group I have gained insights into group dynamics, how to refocus conversation in a constructive way, how to craft a vision for my team, how to build something from the group up, how to listen to both what someone is saying and also what might be underneath this, how to encourage leadership development in my team, and in myself! She has helped give me organizational brass tacks tools, but also self-awareness in terms of who I am as a leader.” – Daniel E.

“I had no idea what this would entail or where it would lead me. The experience was beautifully laced with meaningful and challenging conversations. I am thankful that I got to unpack past experiences and look at the shame I carried. I am glad I had space to struggle with the feelings that get in the way of my racial justice work. Lena seems uniquely made to guide people down this path, striking an amazingly adept balance between asking pointed questions in a non-threatening way, listening intently, sharing bits of herself and creating a safe place for me to talk, express doubts, navigate the challenges of this internal work.” – Jenifer M.
